Iowa permit practice test 1
Twenty-five questions on the basics every new Iowa driver needs: traffic lights, STOP, YIELD and DO NOT ENTER signs, default speed limits, seat belts, the permit age and supervisors, emergency vehicles, school buses, OWI limits, the hands-free law and the Steer It-Clear It law. Every answer comes from the Iowa Driver's License Manual or Iowa DOT's own pages. The real Iowa knowledge test is taken with a vision screening. Iowa DOT does not publish the number of questions on the real test, so our size of 25 questions with 20 correct (80%) to pass is our own choice. It matches Iowa DOT's own 25-question online practice test, which says a score of 80% or higher passes. Iowa DOT does not state a time limit, and our sets have none.
Exam mode: timed, answers at the end, like the real test. Practice mode: untimed, the answer and explanation after each question.
