Kansas permit practice test 3

Twenty-five questions on U-turns, passing limits, no-parking distances, parking on hills, the Kansas school bus law on multilane and divided roads, moving over for emergency and work vehicles, blocking intersections, booster seats, lane and turn signs, retesting rules and teen license limits. Every answer comes from the Kansas Driving Handbook or the Division of Vehicles' graduated license page. The real Kansas knowledge test has 25 multiple-choice questions and you must score 80% to pass, so this set uses the same format: 25 questions, 20 correct to pass. The real test is not timed, and neither is this set.

A sample question

On a highway with two lanes in each direction, you approach a stopped fire truck with flashing lights on the shoulder. What does Kansas law require?

  • Stop in your lane behind it and wait until the crew waves you on
  • Speed up to pass it quickly in the lane next to it, without slowing
  • Honk to warn the crew, then pass in the next lane at the posted speed limit
  • Move to a lane not next to it if you can; if not, slow down and proceed with caution

Marked when you take the test; the explanation appears in your review.
