Nevada permit practice test 1
Twenty-five questions on the basics every new Nevada driver needs: traffic lights, STOP and YIELD signs, seat belts, the instruction permit, emergency vehicles, school buses, following distance, the Basic Rule for speed and what to do after a minor crash. Every answer comes from the Nevada Driver's Handbook (DMV 700, March 2024). The real Nevada written knowledge test has 25 multiple-choice questions and you need 20 correct (80 percent) to pass, so this set uses the same format: 25 questions, 20 to pass. Road signs are part of the same test. The DMV gives 60 minutes online and no time limit in person; our sets have no time limit.
Exam mode: timed, answers at the end, like the real test. Practice mode: untimed, the answer and explanation after each question.

A sample question
What does a flashing red traffic light mean?
- The same as a STOP sign: stop completely, then go when the way is clear
- The light is broken, so drive through slowly if no one is coming
- Stop only if pedestrians are waiting
- The same as a YIELD sign: slow down and go through without stopping
Marked when you take the test; the explanation appears in your review.
