Pennsylvania permit practice test 3

Eighteen mid-level questions: divided highway signs and crossings, green arrows that turn into green lights, flaggers and NO TURN ON RED, headlights in work zones, the school bus exception, passing limits near intersections, test refusal, left on red, hydroplaning, hydrant parking, junior license passenger limits, emergency vehicles, roundabouts, trucks and fog. Every answer comes from the Pennsylvania Driver's Manual. The real PennDOT knowledge test has 18 multiple-choice questions and you must answer 15 correctly to pass, so this set uses the same format: 18 questions, 15 correct to pass. PennDOT does not state a time limit, and our sets have none.

A sample question

In which situation does Pennsylvania allow a left turn on a steady red light, after stopping and yielding?

  • From any street when no traffic is coming
  • From a two-way street onto a one-way street
  • From the left lane of a one-way street onto another one-way street, unless a sign forbids it
  • Never; left turns on red are always illegal

Marked when you take the test; the explanation appears in your review.
