TOEFL iBT listening practice set 4

Forty-seven practice items in the four task types of the updated TOEFL iBT Listening section: Listen and Choose a Response (15 short remarks), Listen to a Conversation (five conversations on campus), Listen to an Announcement (three announcements) and Listen to an Academic Talk (four talks, on change blindness, why the Moon always shows the same face, managing shared resources and flying buttresses). This is the fourth and hardest of the four listening sets, a step up from set 3: prompts rely on tone and idiom, and many questions ask about a speaker's attitude, purpose or implied meaning. The real section also has about 47 items, and each recording is played only once, so listen once and take notes. This set uses American voices; the real test can also use British, Australian and New Zealand accents. It is untimed; the real Listening section is timed and adaptive, so the questions you meet depend on how you answer earlier ones, and it is reported on a 1 to 6 scale.

Exam mode: timed, answers at the end, like the real test. Practice mode: untimed, the answer and explanation after each question.
