TOEFL iBT reading practice set 2
Seventeen practice items in the three task types of the updated TOEFL iBT Reading section: Complete the Words (five gaps in a paragraph about volcanic islands), Read in Daily Life (a dining notice, a tutor's email and a community post) and Read an Academic Passage (a short text about tree rings). Slightly harder than set 1. It is untimed; the real Reading section is timed and adaptive, with later questions chosen according to your earlier answers, and it is reported on a 1 to 6 scale.
Exam mode: timed, answers at the end, like the real test. Practice mode: untimed, the answer and explanation after each question.

Subject: Extension for the case study report Hello everyone, Several of you have said that the university network was down on Sunday evening and that you could not upload drafts. I have therefore extended the deadline for the case study report from Monday at 9.00 a.m. to Tuesday at 5.00 p.m. The word limit stays at 2,500 words, and I will not accept any further extensions apart from those approved through the student support office. Reports submitted after Tuesday at 5.00 p.m. will lose five marks for each day they are late. Best wishes, Course Tutor Why has the deadline been extended?
- The word limit was raised.
- Many students could not use the network to upload work.
- The tutor needs more time to mark.
- The student support office asked for it.
Marked when you take the test; the explanation appears in your review.
