Virginia traffic signs practice test 6
Ten of the hardest traffic sign questions, nearly all with pictures, on rarer signs and fine distinctions: the safe speed plaque, the number of tracks plaque, STOP HERE WHEN FLASHING, Keep Left versus Keep Right, an optional turn lane, low shoulders, hairpin curves, NO OUTLET, Two-Way Traffic and runaway truck ramps. Every answer comes from the Virginia Driver's Manual (DMV 39, April 2026) and the national sign manual (MUTCD). The real Virginia knowledge exam has two parts: 10 traffic sign questions, which you must all answer correctly, and 30 general knowledge questions, where you need 24 correct. This set practices the traffic signs part in the same format: 10 questions, all 10 to pass. The general knowledge part has its own practice sets. There is no time limit.
Exam mode: timed, answers at the end, like the real test. Practice mode: untimed, the answer and explanation after each question.

A sample question
What hazard does this sign warn about?
- The shoulder is soft ahead, and a vehicle could sink into it
- The road has no shoulder at all beyond the white edge line ahead
- The shoulder is closed to vehicles that need to stop, so keep going
- The shoulder sits below the pavement edge, so drifting off is risky
Marked when you take the test; the explanation appears in your review.
