IELTS Listening practice test 1
A complete IELTS Listening practice test in the real format: four parts and 40 questions, ten per part, played once, in about 30 minutes. Part 1 is a phone call about booking an evening class, Part 2 is a welcome talk at a coastal nature reserve, Part 3 is two students planning a presentation, and Part 4 is a lecture on the history of Britain's canals. Question types are form and note completion, multiple choice, matching and map labelling. This is the easiest of our four Listening tests. Format checked against ielts.org on 1 November 2026: four parts, 40 questions, about 30 minutes, recordings heard once only. On paper you would then get 10 minutes to transfer answers; on computer, 2 minutes to check.
Exam mode: timed, answers at the end, like the real test. Practice mode: untimed, the answer and explanation after each question.
