IELTS Listening practice test 4
A complete IELTS Listening practice test in the real format: four parts and 40 questions, ten per part, played once, in about 30 minutes. Part 1 is a phone call to an insurer about a stolen bicycle, Part 2 is a manager's talk at the open evening of a new community library, Part 3 is two postgraduate students designing a survey on commuting, and Part 4 is a lecture on soundscape ecology. Question types are form, summary and note completion with a two word limit, multiple choice with one or two answers, and plan labelling. This is the hardest of our four Listening tests: answers are heavily paraphrased, speakers correct themselves often, and the summary and notes demand exact two word phrases. Format checked against ielts.org on 1 November 2026: four parts, 40 questions, about 30 minutes, recordings heard once only. On paper you would then get 10 minutes to transfer answers; on computer, 2 minutes to check.
Exam mode: timed, answers at the end, like the real test. Practice mode: untimed, the answer and explanation after each question.
