IELTS Academic Reading practice test 5
A gentler IELTS Academic Reading test to start with, in the real format: three passages and 40 questions in 60 minutes. Passage 1 is about how honeybees communicate (True/False/Not Given and note completion). Passage 2 tells the history of lighthouses (matching headings, sentence completion and multiple choice). Passage 3 explains why cities are warmer than the countryside (matching information, summary completion and multiple choice). Write answers to completion questions using words taken from the passage, and keep to the word limit. Each correct answer earns one mark; the real test converts the raw score out of 40 to a band from 1 to 9.
Exam mode: timed, answers at the end, like the real test. Practice mode: untimed, the answer and explanation after each question.
