SQE1 FLK2 practice set 5

Forty-five single-best-answer questions from the FLK2 subjects: Property Practice, Wills and the Administration of Estates, Solicitors Accounts, Land Law, Trusts, and Criminal Law and Practice, with ethics and professional conduct woven through. Each question has five options and one best answer. This is about a quarter of an FLK paper. From January 2027 each FLK assessment has 170 questions in two sessions of 85, each lasting 2 hours 33 minutes. This set is timed at the January 2027 pace of 1 minute 48 seconds a question (81 minutes for 45 questions). There is no fixed pass mark: the SRA sets it separately for each paper at each sitting and reports it on a scaled score where 300 out of 500 is a pass, so this set gives you a percentage and a subject breakdown, not a pass or fail. The law is stated as it stood in England and Wales on 1 September 2026 (the SRA assesses the law as it stands four calendar months before the first assessment in a window).

A sample question

Ada's will gives to her nephew 8,000 pounds to be paid out of her savings account at Northgate Bank, and leaves her residue to a friend. When Ada dies, that savings account holds only 3,000 pounds. The residue is large. What does the nephew receive?

  • 3,000 pounds only, because the gift is limited to the money in the named account
  • Nothing, because the gift is adeemed as the account no longer holds 8,000 pounds
  • 8,000 pounds: 3,000 from the account and the rest from residue as a general legacy
  • 8,000 pounds, all of it from residue, because the reference to the account is ignored
  • 3,000 pounds, together with a share of residue equal to the share of the friend
