CELPIP-General Listening practice test 2

A full CELPIP-General Listening practice test that follows the real format: six parts, 38 multiple-choice questions, and situations from daily life and work in Canada. Part 1, Listening to Problem Solving, follows a phone call about a furniture delivery that went wrong, in three sections with questions after each one (8 questions). Part 2, Listening to a Daily Life Conversation, is two friends talking about adopting a dog from a shelter (5 questions). Part 3, Listening for Information, is a call from a new resident to the public library (6 questions). Part 4, Listening to a News Item, is a radio report about outdoor pools and a shortage of lifeguards (5 questions). Part 5, Listening to a Discussion, is a brother and sister planning their parents' fortieth anniversary (8 questions). Part 6, Listening to Viewpoints, is a report on both sides of a proposal to allow backyard hens (6 questions). Each question has four answer choices that you read on screen, just as in the real test, and each recording plays once only. CELPIP allows 46 to 55 minutes for Listening, and this practice test gives you the full 55. The real test may also include unscored questions that cannot be told apart from scored ones. Our recordings are read by North American voices. About scores: CELPIP gives each skill a level from 0 to 12. Levels 3 to 12 are equal to the same Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level, and level 2 is equal to CLB 1 to 2. CELPIP does not publish how many correct answers lead to each level, so there is no pass mark here: treat your score out of 38 as a guide to your listening, not as a CELPIP level. Format checked against celpip.ca on 1 November 2026.
