CELPIP-General Listening practice test 3

This CELPIP-General Listening practice test keeps the real structure, six parts and 38 multiple-choice questions, but its recordings are a little longer and more detailed than in our earlier tests, and more of the questions ask you to infer what a speaker means. Part 1, Listening to Problem Solving, is a new employee sorting out a mistake on his pay with the payroll office, in three sections with questions after each (8 questions). Part 2, Listening to a Daily Life Conversation, is two friends discussing whether to go back to school part-time (5 questions). Part 3, Listening for Information, is a call to a city parking office about winter parking rules (6 questions). Part 4, Listening to a News Item, is a report on a new clinic run by nurse practitioners (5 questions). Part 5, Listening to a Discussion, is two managers comparing two possible new offices (8 questions). Part 6, Listening to Viewpoints, is a report on a school district's plan to change the school calendar (6 questions). You read four answer choices on screen for every question, as in the real test, and you hear each recording once only. The real Listening test takes 46 to 55 minutes; we allow 55. CELPIP also includes some unscored questions that look exactly like the scored ones. The voices in our recordings are North American. On scoring: each CELPIP skill is reported as a level from 0 to 12, where levels 3 to 12 correspond to the same Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level and level 2 corresponds to CLB 1 to 2. CELPIP has not published how many correct answers are needed for each level, so this test has no pass mark. Your total out of 38 shows how well you followed the recordings; it is not a CELPIP level. Format checked against celpip.ca on 1 November 2026.
