Sixteen listening items in the two Duolingo English Test listening task types: six Listen and Type sentences (type exactly what you hear) and two Interactive Listening conversations, one with a classmate about a group presentation and one with a university accommodation office about broken heating. In each conversation you answer a question about the opening, choose the best reply at each turn and then pick the best summary. American and British voices. This is the easier of our two listening sets. It is untimed; in practice mode you can replay each recording. The real test is adaptive, so the questions get harder or easier as you answer; it takes about an hour, mixes all four skills and is scored from 10 to 160. On the real test you write the conversation summary yourself; speaking and writing tasks are not scored here.
Exam mode: timed, answers at the end, like the real test. Practice mode: untimed, the answer and explanation after each question.
